WHAT YOU DON'T KNOW

My name is Shingai Kusena, I'm a Sports Performance & Fitness Trainer who is also an active Semi-Pro Track Athlete, representing Team Zimbabwe, specializing in the triple jump! My passion for Sports and Fitness started in my younger teenage years as I was gaining more understanding and getting more involved in the lifestyle of Fitness and developing as an athlete. My athletic abilities earned me a scholarship to study in the USA while studying a Bachelors in PE emphasizing in Sports & Fitness Management. I wanted to invest in my understanding of both fitness and health training and also Sports performance/human performance. 
 

As an athlete, I’ve been able to achieve some notable accomplishments. In high school, I was a 2x Provincial Champion,1 X National Champion(2013), 3X Youth(15/17yrs) and Junior(18/19yrs) Zimbabwe National Team Representative(2012-2014). During college, I was an 8X National Qualifier in the Triple Jump,5X All American.

My coaching experience began in my senior year in high school as I started coaching athletes individually, which then led me to become a volunteer coach for a year after I graduated. I had success with my athletes at the national level where I was able to coach and mentor athletes who went on to become national champions and some earned college scholarships in the process. My personal training began in college as I worked with a few clients in person and online, these included weight loss and muscle gain clients.

 

Professionally, I was employed by 2 organizations, Fundamental Athletics Academy(FAA) and Fit4Lincoln which was a franchise of Fit Body BootCamp(FBBC) both Lincoln NE. I was a Sports Coach at FAA and my specialty areas where speed, agility, and jumping working with up to 80 athletes. I was a Personal Trainer/Group Fitness instructor at Fit4Lincoln where I worked with over 30 clients in person. I was able to apply my knowledge, gain more experience, grow as a coach and trainer during my time at these 2 organizations. 

 

To sum it all up, I believe my education, passion and experience as an athlete/coach/personal trainer gives me a great understanding of what hard work, dedication, discipline, and a well structured specific and goal-oriented program can do for you. My specialized programs are designed to bring the best out of you whether you’re looking to lose weight, gain muscle, tone up or an athlete looking to improve their athleticism, you have come to the right place. You set your goal, I will design a program specifically for you and then together we will do whatever it takes to crush that goal!
